At last! Sunshine for a change

Satellite infra-red view. I live about where the white dot
It's been rainy the whole month of May. As a predictable result, the season is very late in its greenly advance.

Result on the ground: the clouds are really south of the Canadian border, Maine at left, New Hampshire at right
Today for the first time in a countless number of days, the cloud-covered does not include my area. It is a relief, for at least my nerves are getting a bit too tense. I am about to abandon ship and go elsewhere. I can't stand that coldness and limitless rain the second sprind in a row out here and at least the fifth overall including Montreal. The East Coast springs have been excruciating for the last five years.
Am I ever glade of this sudden change of weather... See you in a crocodile.

I miss the city

"Close to the edit" - Art of Noise (1982)
I miss the city. Not the actual city but the cities of despair in which I lived, the cities I enjoyed because they were crumbling, falling apart, with abandoned dockyards where grass grew out of cracked asphalt. The cities where there was a meaning at being in their core and struggling for survival. You knew the enemy. It was all over. To be continued...

Make art not war or Make art of war

Goran Tomasevic - Reuters
I do not wish to by cynical but when I saw this photograph it occured to me that here is an opportunity to become a choreographer! My first creation would be a large scale performance by a group of dancers under modern arabic and israeli music, lots of percussion, prayer callings, and bomb blast sounds. There would be a large screen in the background
with images of ruins and slides beaming down with this gravel soil we see. This photograph more than any other I have seen lately really resemble a dance performance.
